My bro just purchased a Nobile 666 EXT.. and he's having some problems with it..
First.. The pads are so slippery, he loses the board after each jump. Second, the straps were okay, not until the after the first session because the seam of the covering material broke! the board was just too expensive to ever expect for these things to happen..
So he decided to change the pads & here's another problem: one of the screws won't come out & got completely locked on the board.. Funny thing was when he checked on the screws, he found out they were not of the same sizes!!
I can't believe it as well! Now he has to find someone who can drill the screw out for him. Too bad this wasn't the idea of buying a board that costs that much!
So the lesson is: Any board is great as long as you'd be able to ride on it!

I am so sorry to hear that. Although i've heard ongoing complaints on Nobile straps & pads.. It's such a shame for great boards loke that to come with poor quality accessories!

you're lucky your fins aren't broken yet. my co-rider's already started to fly out & the bolts through the board.
in your case, i think the screw must have been cross-threaded by the one who assembled the board. because cross-threaded screws often behave like that. they cut a new thread by themselves as u screw them down. and if you try to remove them, they will, at first, start to come out okay, but bind up big time afterwards.
anyway, a good service center can easily drill that out & can clean the thread insert.

i have had the same troubles as well. the insert you were referring to was the INOX, right? it's hard & grabby! i was able to rip out the screw heads but the threads were still stuck in the insert. when i brought them at the shop to have the screw threads drilled out, the inserts were not even damaged at all! tough one! and what happens is that if the screw is slightly off or imperfect, the insert grabs it immediately.
on my 2nd attempt i've been very careful that i put soap on the screws, i even pre-threaded them & i made sure the pads were perfectly aligned before i put them in. and there are stil times when the screw holes for the pad are off. but i discovered u can align it by shoving a pencil or something under the pad to mount it.

Don't frill the screw. Same thing happened to me 2 years ago. They should have put a slot in the plastic just like any other normal pads, so there would be space to put the screws in perfectly. Because having only 2 holes in the bottom plastic will force the screws on the board to move sideways. Thus, crossed thread!
AAnyhow. after several trials, i got myself a pair of pliers, the ones that can lock. So i can apply all the force when turning the screw. Luckily i managed to get it out w/o ruining the insert.
Save yourselves form those Nobile boards!!!!

thanks everyone for responding!
I was shocked upon learning that my brother was not the only one who encounters that problem. i still check on the screws & i have problems getting them into the inserts even if there's no pad. that's why i really feel that i got those with the cheapest quality. they are just no exactly the correct size. and isnt it that cross-threaded screws are results of bad designs??

The same thing happened to me w/ 3 screws left in my board. I once used the fluted extractor method for removing bolts in cars. But you really need to be extra careful not to damage your board when drilling. It worked fine but after that I changed the fake screws!!
If this is not gonna work, then do the simplest solution: Return the board to the dealer. It was their fault anyway!

If you have a crossed thread, drilling out the screw is the best option you have. But yes, make sure you ask a professional to do it for u & that they clean the thread afterwards. Otherwise, the same problem will occur.
