take your kite surfing lessons first.. your instructor will let you use different kites and from there, take the chance to learn about several gear before you even buy your own.

All kitesurfing gear providers offer good and bad kites! If you really are a newbie, I agree wid Eyecandy - take your lessons first, then practice with as many kites as you can every session. Buy a cheap one first, then decide which one would work for your riding styles!

start with beginner kites.. ask your instructor what's best for you. sometimes, the trainer considers your height and the things you already know to recommend your kite. these kite recommendations usually changes as your progress your level... so it will be very challenging!

This should work for everyone.. This should work for you too. Try out as much gear as you can! Then you'll eventually know which would work for you..
