If u have any, I'd like to hear gear maintenance tips forextended travel trips. I know there are some places where fresh water is available where the board can be rinsed, other places to rinse the kite. But not in every beach though.

What do u guys do? I only try to dry the kite & get rid of the sand and sometimes, i don't don't deflate the struts. But i saw another rider applying gel to the screws on his board. What else can i do?

Things are different at home, i know. But for extended travels, how do i go about it?

R-E-L-A-X!

I dont do anything with my kites. I simply put them in my bag, all with sand & dirt and i never actually rinse them. the only time i clean it is when i need to limit the weight of my stuff down to 50lbs for a flight. and most probably everyone's just doing the same way. so dont you worry!

SAME here! I've been in too many places & never washed my kite, as well as my other gear, when traveling. I dont even remove the lines when i pack it up & simply put it in my baggage. Just use the kite, it doesn't really need to be washed!

When i go on long trips with brand new kites, i wash them with fresh water when i have the chance to do so.. BUT they have to be completely dry before i pack them. because if not, mold problems will occur!
