i recently got my 08 Rebel 12m and along with it, i use my old 07 bar. the first problem is the bladder of the LE is wrong. And the valve is also in the wrong spot! I tried pumping it but it gets sucked in instead. anyone among you here got the wrong bladder ever? hoe come a kite doesn't have any power and why is it slower than the 07 model? it backs up and even if i rigged all the lines at the same length, it still flies very badly! any hints why?

it sounds like your bladder might have been twisted or you probably have gotten the wrong size.. mine has been slightly twisted then when it was still new & only a quick fix was required.. but as for the best line tuning for a Rebel 08, i learned that you need to lengthen the back steering lines to the last knot of the leaders. Make sure that all lines come with the same length when the iron heart is pressed against the bar.
For the 12m and bigger kites, try moving the rear pigtails to the back, as you set and adjust the bungee to the end knot. I have mine set like this and the kites turned fine. I have not gotten a bad one in the lineup and I am even super amazed with my 14m as a big kite. I hope this helps.

That's weird. I'm flying my 12m 08 on my 07 bar & the performance is still very impressive. i once had a 14m 07 and basically, i only get the same low end as the 12m and the added performance of a smaller kite. but w/ my new 12m, it is set with the lines on the rear part & i simply move the rear lines from the 3rd knot down to the second to lengthen them a bit. ubt later i'l also try to apply other settings to compare which is better..
another thing i noticed is that this new kite wakes up a lot quicker once the wind starts to kick in and it really hums along as it develops some apparent wind.

on the contrary, i believe that the Rebel 07 is really hard to over sheet! it just keeps on trucking. anyway, it sounds like you only have to adjust the lines for each kite because unfortunately, a lot of riders do not know how to trim their kites & only walk away disappointed!
but the easy fix is to try pumping them from the deflate valve at the tip for a few times. pump the kite from there until it is almost full, then try to top it off from the normal valve. i've tried that & after 3 to 4 times on the water, it was fixed!

mine's the same. its front tube was twisted. they have to check their items before they sell it!!
and here are my observations. first, it's the type of kite that doesnt like to be oversheet since they require more technique adjustment. they stall most of the time & loose almost all the power. second, they fly more of the front lines. third, they love the apparent wind - both through the fast kite flying & the fast boards.
the behavior maybe okay, but for me the 07 model was a very much nicer kite compard to the 08!

tnx for the help. and honestly, that's exactly the setting i got. i think i have everything done just right! maybe it's the fault of the wind, that's exactly what's going on. sometimes it acts like a bow kite, really slow compared to the 07. the bladder isnt twisted, i checked it. i even took it out & powdered it. but it's still not right. or perhaps the valves must be on the wrong spot.

i actually have the Rebel 12. For me it's way better. I don't really get what you mean by saying that the bladder goes on the wrong spot...
But here's how i set it up... The rear lines on the bar are attached to the first knot that is furthest from the bar. From the factory, it comes in the middle knot, so move it up by a knot. And after moving the rear line, pull the cleat by 4/5. Otherwise, when u pull on the bar, your kite will open up too much & lose its power...
And for ur kite, move the connections as close as you can to the trailing edge. So that it will more responsive & lighter for the bar.

well, what i did was, i did not remove the whole bladder. instead, i left the 2 valves where they're supposed to sit & i pulled out the bladder in between through the zipper opening. Then my friend slowly pulled right on the front tube end where the valve is, and while he was shaking it, i let the bladder slide properly. I pumped it slowly while my friend was still shaking the bladder in place. We needed to repeat the process until we finally got it. Lesson therefore: Wait until the valve reaches its final position. Work until both valves get to their intended places.
