Kite Surfing Gear - Control Bar
A Control Bar serves as your steering wheel in Kite Surfing. Just like in driving a car, it is necessary to know how to use the Control Bar in maneuvering the kite.
Attached to the power kites through lines, this indispensable piece of Kite Surfing Equipment is lightweight but strong. It has a bar float to keep it from sinking because it is usually heavier than water.
By pulling or pushing the Control Bar, it will rotate either in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction. Handling a Control Bar is like riding a bicycle.
A Control Bar usually has a quick release safety system. A control strap that enables the kite surfer to change the kite's angle of attack is also included. A chicken loop is likewise connected to the rider's harness by a latch or a hook on the spreader bar.
Control Bars are used for both 2- and 4-lines. You only need a rope-like webbing to connect the bar to the harness. If you have already attached the lines to your power kite, you will notice that it will enable you to have control and corollary, to have an enhanced performance.
These are the basic things that you need to know about the Control Bar. Use it the right way so you can control the kite effectively.
