Walney Island to Host BKSA Championship

Walney Island will be playing host to the 2nd round of the British Kite Surfing Association Championship from 11th - 13th, May 2007. The event is said to bring 50 competitors to the area including pro men, pro women, amateurs, juniors and senior kite surfers.
Weather permitting, the riders will be judged on freestyle tricks and jumps during the three-day event.Organizers are hoping crowds will see other challenges including the highest jump, speed runs or even a new record set.
Budding kite surfers will be able to get advice from professional instructors, who are set to hold free kite safety sessions during the free event.
Also planned is a social night, including a live band, food and a slide show. The social night will be held at Vickerstown Institute, Walney, on the Saturday as part of the activities.
