DVDs are growing leaps and bounds everyday, what they feature and the content they give to the public. In this ever expanding industry comes Mill Creek Entertainment’s “Reel Indies.” “Reel Indies,” debuting on April 24, will showcase award-winning features and documentaries from the edgy and creative filmmakers trying to make their mark on the movie business. Mill Creek will introduce the “Reel Indies” line of DVDs with eight releases, followed by four DVDs per month between June and September 2007. Each of the DVDs will cost $14.98.
“Reel Indies” is a collaboration between Mill Creek Entertainment and Breakthrough Distribution, which is helmed by Liam Finn, the former vice president of the Filmmakers Alliance where he has steered the creative affairs of over 400 independent filmmakers.
One of these DVDS is the "Into the Air: A Kiteboarding Experience" which is a documentary about the up and coming extreme sport known as Kiteboarding. Filmed in sunny Puerto Rico, there are interviews with Kiteboarding enthusiasts, footage of the sport in action and the lifestyle associated with this new extreme water sport.
