Teen Kite Surfer Bags Junior, Senior Titles

Teen kite surfer Torrin Bright impressed judges and spectators alike. He bagged double titles at the recently concluded Canterbury championships held at Christchurch.
The 17-year old kite surfer marked a new record for becoming the first person to ever win both the junior and senior titles at the competition.
Bright defeated former champion Aaron Smith at the open division. According to Bright, the open division proved to be more of a challenge.
The event is considered as the unofficial South Island championship. It is also the second biggest kiteboarding competition in New Zealand.
