Kite Surfing Jamboree to be Held in Egypt
WEDNESDAY, 19 MARCH 2008
A kite surfing 'jamboree' will be held at Egypt’s Red Sea destination of El Gouna. This is also being billed as the biggest event of its kind in the region. The event's contests, activities, and shows will run from April 18 to 27.
The kite surfing festival includes discussions on new trends, exhibitions, showcasing and testing the latest equipment, as well as talks on the rules and safety of the sport.
The festival is not only for long-time enthusiasts of the sport but also for those who have never tried but are interested in kite surfing. Organizers say there will be free introductory sessions for those who are getting started.
Professional and amateur kite surfing competitions will be held, while viewers will get involved in the judging process. Lastly, the kite surfing jamboree will also hold fashion show, photographic and video competitions, and nightly parties.
